Reopening Guidelines and Restrictions

We are happy to announce that we will be reopening all five of our offices on Monday, May 4th, 2020. We will be operating on a limited basis and ask that you follow the guidelines listed below to minimize the spread of COVID-19.


  • On May 4, 2020 all 5 office locations will open with hours 8:30am – 5:00pm, Monday through Friday.
  • Saturday services for Pasco Residents Only will resume May 9, 2020 from 8:30am – 12:00 Noon at Wesley Chapel and Gulf Harbors.
  • Only the customer(s) involved in the transaction will be allowed to enter the office.
  • Each office will have separate entrances and exits for customers.
  • Dealers will only be able to drop off work through the vin check/drive thru from 9:00am-12:00noon at all 5 offices.  No over the counter transactions for dealers will be permitted.
  • We will offer all services EXCEPT: Non-US non-Pasco residents, and Interpreter Testing
  • Lobby seating for customers will be restricted to adhere to social distancing guidelines with offices primarily using every third seat on the front row only.
  • There will be cones, 6 feet apart, outside each office entrance marking social distancing for customers waiting in line.
  • Customers must stay behind the shields that have been installed on the front counters at all times. 

 If possible, we encourage you to complete your transaction online, by phone, or through the mail. Please see below for these services.

Dealer Services:

  • Dealers may drop off work at the offices between the hours of 9am-12pm daily and expect it to be ready within 72 hours.

  • All dealer transactions will be processed only as a drop off. They are to sign in, drop off their work, and leave. They will receive a call from Dealers Services when their work is complete. There is no guarantee when their work will be complete. Of course, we will do our best to have it completed as soon as possible. 

Drivers Licenses:

  • The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) is extending all driver licenses, ID cards and commercial driver's licenses that expire.
  • Executive Director Terry L. Rhodes issued an Emergency Order that:

    • Extends the effective period of all driver licenses and identification cards that expire between May 1, 2020, and May 31, 2020, for 30 days.
    • Waives the delinquent renewal fees during the extension period above for these driver licenses and identification cards.
    • Extends the effective period of driver licenses and identification cards with expiration
      dates on or after March 16, 2020, through April 15, 2020, for sixty (60) days.

    • Extend the effective period of driver licenses and identification cards with expiration
      dates on or after April 16, 2020, through April 30, 2020, for thirty (30) days.

    • In conjunction with the waiver issued by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, extend through June 30, 2020, the effective period of commercial driver licenses and commercial driver instructional permits with expiration dates on or after March 16, 2020.

    • Waives the delinquent renewal fees during the extension period for these driver licenses and identification cards.

    • Waives, through June 30, 2020, medical examiner certificate for those CDL drivers who have proof of a valid medical certificate issued for a period of 90 days or longer that expired on or after March 1, 2020.  Note this does not include original CDL issuances. 

  • In addition, the emergency order also:
    • Allows DUI programs to institute distance learning methodologies, in lieu of the face-to-face requirement in statute, while Executive Order 20-52 is in effect. 

    • Extends effective period of apportioned registrations under the International Registration Plan (IRP) with expirations dates of April 30, 2020, for 30 days and waives delinquent renewal fees during the extension period.

    • Waives the enforcement of registration requirements for commercial motor vehicles that enter Florida to provide emergency services, etc.

    • Waives enforcement of licensing and registration requirements under IFTA for commercial motor vehicles that are properly registered in other jurisdictions and is participating in emergency relief efforts.

  •  The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has announced that they are extending the Real ID enforcement deadline to October 1, 2021. 

 Out-of-County Non-US Citizens Drivers License Appointments:

  • We are currently suspending all Appointments for Out of County/Non-Resident of Pasco Non-US Citizens until July 2020.
